Papillon Necklace
This necklace came out of an accident in the experiments. I was exploring the effects that resin gives when poured over leftover bits of metal and image scraps. The plate with a photograph of the Papillon hat by Louis Mariette turned out well and I decided to find use for it. Rummaging through my drawer with beads, I found a colour combination that was in keeping with the image. Then I tested a few different weaving techniques to check available options with the materials I had, and decided on a shape and textures that echoed art deco and butterfly wings.
