I am as much infatuated with the lustre and textures of the nuno felt, as I am captivated with method of making it. The process feels like preforming some ancient ballet that originates with a silk warm and a grazing sheep. I hold my breath while the gentle layer after layer of fine wool strands cover the restrained sheet of silk. And then after endlessly repetitive rolling I get my revenge by throbbing the hot wet piece of cloth that fuses in my soapy hands into the commanded shape and never fails to surprise and delight me after it dries.
