Makers are on a rise! The culture that manifested itself in the wilderness of the Nevada dessert has finally made it to main-stream of London. And today UCL opened its Maker-space: the Institute of Making. Beautifully designed utilitarian space for makers was crowded and full with exited grown-ups. I played with an odd gum-like material that turns stiff on impact, saw world's lightest smoky material of silica aerogels, and I peered at the world of tiny with a portable ProScope microscope, and found out that London will finally have a Makers Fair this summer. Personally can hardly wait till they begin their series of workshop. |
